Infrastructure and data migration assessment for agricultural retail provider
Cloud technologies have become essential for organisations that seek better scalability, efficiency, and competitiveness.
Recognising the potential advantages of cloud migration, Lithuanian agricultural retail provider Lytagra Company (further – Lytagra) wanted to evaluate their IT infrastructure and explore migration opportunities to the cloud.
This case study delves into the process and deliverables of the implemented infrastructure and data migration assessment backed by Baltic Amadeus, partnering with Microsoft.
Situation
Lytagra is a Lithuanian agricultural retail provider with a wide range of specialised divisions, including a shopping centre, agricultural machinery sales, service, spare parts departments, tools, metal products, building materials, black metal, tubes, and tire and rubber products.
Recognising the potential advantages of moving to the cloud, Lytagra redeemed a special offer from Baltic Amadeus in partnership with Microsoft to explore these possibilities.
Within a month, the Baltic Amadeus team completed the infrastructure and data migration assessment and delivered a comprehensive report to Lytagra.

Solution
During the infrastructure and data migration assessment, our team thoroughly analysed Lytagra’s IT infrastructure, considering their plans, current setup, usage, processes, and data.
Furthermore, we evaluated the client’s entire infrastructure, covering both on-site and Microsoft Azure cloud components. This assessment examined factors such as the end of support for operating systems and SQL, performance metrics, dependency mapping (using Netstat), cloud sizing for laaS, managed disk sizing, and overall, Azure readiness.
Lastly, we identified and presented migration opportunities in Windows Server and SQL environments. This assessment aimed to determine the readiness for cloud migration and establish workload prioritisation.
Added value
Following a comprehensive infrastructure and data migration assessment, Lytagra gained deep insights into its existing IT infrastructure, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.
Secondly, by evaluating both on-site and Azure cloud components, we provided Lytagra with hands-on insights into cloud migration, leveraging the scalability and efficiency of the cloud while mitigating potential risks.
Lastly, pinpointing migration opportunities in Windows Server and SQL environments enabled better workload prioritisation and valuable insights for improving the client’s IT strategy.
