FL Technics is a global aircraft maintenance and repair provider. The company aimed to optimise inventory management with a focus on economic order quantity (EOQ) principles. To support their needs for business process automation, we developed a customised data analytics solution. Explore how we set the foundation for optimal inventory control.
FL Technics is a global provider of tailor-made solutions for aircraft maintenance and repair, providing one-stop-shop maintenance to commercial aviation customers across Europe, North and South Americas, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Aircraft maintenance and repair is a highly intricate process, where incorrect decisions can lead to costly and challenging outcomes. The current reporting system provides limited insights, making it difficult to plan procurement effectively. The client sought a unified report that integrates stock levels, consumption, and market prices to improve EOQ and interdepartmental coordination.
The project aims to provide a report that shows the real-time status of aircraft parts, with each item categorised by stock levels (low, average, high). This allows employees to quickly assess the availability of parts without having to manually check each item.
Our team provided a data analytics solution, including data engineering, data integration, and reporting services. We created a unified report that automated manual data collection and data processing. Following our recommendations, the client has leveraged Power BI and Microsoft Fabric technologies to enhance their data analytics capabilities.
The new solution adds value by streamlining processes and supporting the client for future scalability. We designed it with flexibility in mind, allowing for easy expansion through additional data sources and increased data capacity. This adaptability ensures the client can adjust as needs evolve.
In the long run, the solution will bring efficiency through automation, helping the client maintain optimal stock levels and cut unnecessary costs. By automating key business processes, the client gains better control over inventory management and cost-effectiveness, supporting more strategic decision-making.
